(These One A Days are added to each new day)
A new teacher, trying to make use of her psychology courses, started out her first day in class by saying, “Everyone who thinks you are stupid, stand up!”
After a few seconds, Little Johnny stood up. The teacher said, “Do you think you’re stupid, Little Johnny?”
“No, Ma-am, but I hate to see you standing there all by yourself.
You know the real reason more people don’t improve their way of being? It’s because they see other people’s stupid faults much more easily than they see their own. They forget that “in every human heart is an arena where a hero and coward wage a continuous conflict for the mastery of their lives.” (L.P. Jacks)
And I tell you this; upon the outcome of such a battle rests your happiness, your self-respect and your usefulness to yourself, your God and your fellowman. If you decide to be a hero you will say, “Here I am, God; take me.” If you decide to be a coward you will say, “Not now Lord, I’m not ready yet.”
“Wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. (Proverbs 24:14)
