You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. Joe Lewis
He boarded a bus for
Detroit and ended up in Kansas City. He
hadn't paid enough attention to where the bus said it was going.
That is the problem with a lot of folk. They board the wrong bus in life and end up
in the wrong place because they didn't read all the signs that told them where
they were going.
They are not unaware that getting on the wrong road can aim
them at the wrong place and thereby end up with a messed up life. But
they do it anyway...don't pay attention...and wander willy nilly and pay the
price.
Jesus says, "Wide
is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are
they that enter in thereby."
Wide
is the gate and it beckons, "Come ye one and old and young. Enter the carnival and become a part of the
fun house with twisted mirrors that make wrong look right. And the carnival tent is overcrowded."
Speed up along the wrong road for it is wide and easy and
offers no commandments to watch where you are going. All that is required that you grimmace your
way around moral behavior and put your pedal to the metal as you rush forward
to your own destruction.
And the carnival
tent is overcrowded.
When
it comes to traveling from point A to point B I haven't done much of it on horseback. My grandfather did. He was a country doctor back in the late 19th
century and I remember that ere now and then a burr would make its way
underneath his saddle.
His
horse didn't appreciate it. Neither
would my grandfather have appreciate it if it were under him.
Fact
of the matter...a burr messes up any journey and
maybe shortens the journey and certainly there is no contentment in the
journey...AND SO IT IS WITH SIN...which is a burr supreme.
AND IF ONE BURR OF SIN IS TOO MUCH... MORE
BURRS ARE DEFINITELY TOO MUCH.
And the carnival
tent is overcrowded.
Are
you a poll liver...I mean the kind of person who keeps careful attention to
what the polls are saying...what is politically or ethically correct at the
moment...are you in love with being a part of the majority which as time often
proves is not always right?
How often have you heard the term, "He is an
accident just waiting to happen."
That is what a road with no speed limits or rules of the road or
whatever you wish to call them in the analogy of it all...is all about...when
we do not carry with us in our minds and hearts and souls...God's rules of the
road...we are an accident just waiting to happen.
And
I could keep on keeping on with repetitive analogies of like kind playing off the
bibles analogy...but the meaning is clear...and the warning is clearer.
Read and remember...read and remember...read and
remember...God's RULES FOR THE ROAD...you can't repeat these words too
often...or follow your repetition with action...too often.
