A HAPPINESS SEEKER ...It describes all of us...for certainly no one on purpose pursues unhappiness. But then again...people do so...all the time...they pursue bad habits that only results in bad results...and then make promises to stop doing what is so self destructive and keep on self-destructing...
Except for those who do wake up...and
promise with a disciplined prayer behind their promise...and a realization that
though they may stumble and fall, they can get up again and again and
again...until they stop falling or certainly do not fall as often.
So let's think about some ways to find and keep that warm and fuzzy
feeling called contentment.
First be grateful for what we have rather
than ugly our innards with worry induced ulcers. It isn't that we should be too easily
satisfied. It is that we must not be
perpetually dissatisfied.
Secondly, work at trusting people not because everyone can be trusted
but because many can and miring ourselves down in a pool of distrust is enough
to make anyone constantly frown and fuss.
Thirdly,
firmly believe that the secret to success is learning how to fail. In short, when you fail don't drown yourself
in a puddle of tears. Rather analyze
what the mistake was you made so that you will be less likely to make it again.
And continuing on...Make friends of as many positive people as you
can. Too often pessimistic people seek
out other pessimistic people and thereby only add to their pessimism.
Sign up for life with gusto and write your
signature as large as did John Hancock on the Declaration of Independence. Don't shut out the world or new friends or
new opportunities. Leap toward living is
one way of putting it.
Find a park and walk in it on a regular basis. Leave your television set sometime during the
evening and walk out into the dark of the night that offers you the sparkling
light of the stars.
The world is constantly besieging you with
negative thoughts. Override this barrage
of negativity by seeking out positive quotes.
Google is full of them. All you
have to do is ask.
Do these things and you may still some days wear a frown but those
days will be less and you will know it and feel it.
Forgive anyone you have not forgiven. Otherwise you are your own worst enemy and
who needs enemies.
Are you an unpaid critic flooding the world with your distaste? And that makes you happy and content?
Don't procrastinate. The burden of deeds undone weigh a thousand
pounds and that's on a good day.
Will this wipe clean your
slate of personal living and replace its contents with nothing but perfect
peace? Hardly. But I will bet it may well make you more
peaceful than you are without these helps.
