I know some people who have millions in savings but are still poverty stricken. They worry morning, noon and night about their money. To extend my statement I will simply tell the following tale.

She died in 1916 and she had lived in poverty.

She consumed cold oatmeal for breakfast because it cost extra to heat it.

Her son’s leg became infected but she would not get it treated because she could not find a clinic that would take care of him for free.

His leg had to be amputated.

When she finally died, she died from a heart attack after arguing over the value of drinking skim milk. 

 
And when she died, she had over $100 million dollars in the bank.

The battle between need and greed is never ending…and yes…it has been said more than once that one of the gates that leads to hell has a great large G on it’s richly decorated entrance.

And worst of all is the affect on the children who grow up in such a household. 

 
There is an old Serbian Proverb that speaks to this danger, “A greedy father has thieves for children.”Prov 30:8-9 “Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, "Who is the Lord?" Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.”
