We’re all getting older and there are things we can do to improve our health, mental, physical and spiritual. So…on this particular day…I ran across a piece of info that has the power of plus in it. The wisdom of thinking positive. And the lack of wisdom in thinking negative.
How do you see yourself? As wiser because of your years or senile?
Well, it isn’t just emotional health that is improved by seeing yourself in the best light possible. Physical health shows improvement also. A study in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, suggest that our mindset can even influence how we walk.
They conducted a test and the results are astounding.
Participants in the test first walked a distance equal to the length of a football field. Researchers recorded their speed and the time their feet spent off the ground.
Then they briefly played a computer game.
While playing the game positive words such as “wise” flashed on the screen for half the participants. On the screens of the other half words such as “senile.”
Then they walked again. Those who had had positive reinforcement now walked 9 percent faster.
I guess what I am saying is that to chase after and capture often the power of positive thinking is very wise…and backed by statistics to boot.
So the beginning of wisdom is seeing opportunity in every difficulty rather than seeing difficulty in every opportunity…and good sight and insight to you.
