He had been drafted and had told the Army that he was afraid of high places and not to put him in the Air Corp.

The Army with complete disregard for his request put him in the paratroopers.

The first day he was too jump, one of his officers said to him, “Now look, we’ve given you two parachutes, we know you’re afraid, but don’t be. If the first one doesn’t open, just pull the cord for the second one and when you land we’ll have a jeep to carry you back to camp so you won’t have to walk back.”

Well, the time came to jump, and he did, and he pulled the cord and nothing happened…

So he pulled the second cord on the second parachute and nothing happened.

“Ummmm..mm.., I thought so, “ he said to himself, “And I’ll bet those jeeps aren’t there either.”

Well, the Bible does makes promises and the parachute it promises is the saving grace of the living Christ and He is there and He will be there forever.

John 3:16
