Monday afternoon my wife had her wallet stolen out of her purse. Immediately one thinks of identity theft and all the accompanying problems.
Indeed, one would expect that the event would give the uncomfortable gift of anxiety.
It didn’t and this is my spiritual vitamin report for this 28th day of August in the year 2009.
The peace that passeth understanding is a timeless gift from a timeless God and what the Bible promises is a biblical reality.
As against some larger miracles in my life, such as the healing of my paralyzed arm, this Monday afternoon even was small, but then again it wasn’t.
We have now done all we can and so I slept with a lack of distress in the bosom of my Lord.
I have had this experience many times before, yet another time that bears mentioning is how on the morning of the removal of my right kidney, before medication, I asked my blood pressure to be taken and it was perfectly normal.
Time does offer the back of its hand sometimes but God offers His palm of compassion.
The vigorous hope that is Christianity at work is mind boggling but then He is a mind boggling God.
Can I say I have never felt anxiety and will never feel it again. No! Can I say that this time what I have felt (once again) defies earthly description? Oh yes, I can say that. I can say that indeed.
