It was Black Friday across Americ in the year 2011...and there was violence across the land.  And 2000 years ago,
Wisemen, very wise men, traveled from afar bringing gifts rather than seeking them.
And while giving to loved ones in this Christmas season is a good and blessed thing…it is not good when a Christmas carol, "Let there be peace on Earth" is drowned out by a vast chorus singing "Me!  Me!  Me!  I’m first!  I’m first!  I’m first!"
Violence of over a $2.00 waffle iron?
What can you do to stop such nonsense?

Well, you cannot change everyone overnight.
And some, NEVER!

But you can change an attitude here and another attitude there, and thereby change some actions.
You can pass these on thoughts by email to friends with your own private personal thoughts... and you can be patient yourself with that overworked salesclerk.

You can be the kind of person who makes other people feel better just because you are not condemnatory or rude in thought and deed.
You can be a gift that keeps on giving.

You can work at finding and bringing back to your heart and soul and the world around you what once you had when you were still a child.

You can remember the message that God is love and Christ is the package that proves it.

And what is love?  Well, out of the mouths of babes, and particularly if they are only four years old, come some interesting insights.

Love is that first feeling you have before all the bad stuff gets in the way.”

Love is my grandpa painting my grandma’s toenails because she has arthritis and can’t bend over to do it herself.”

Love is when you go out to eat and somebody gives you most of their French Fries without making you give them any of yours.”

Love is what makes you smile even when you are tired and don’t feel like smiling.”

Love is when a puppy licks your face even though you have gone all day without paying any attention to him.”

Love is when you know your name is safe in some ones mouth.”

Love is when somebody learns something bad about you and loves you anyway.”
Love is what is in the room Christmas morning, if you stop opening your presents for just a minute or two and just listen.”

You can remind yourself and others that...

Some say love is a river that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love is the razor that leaves our soul to bleed.

Some say love is a hunger, an aching endless need.

I say love is a flower and you and I, its only seeds

          It was one star among
many stars
          And so wondrous that star
          It seemed alive.
And though you can no longer see it
As on that night I think
It still moves across the sky
          Strange and bright.
          Pointing toward love and light.

Argue against what happened...make it a topic of conversation wherever you go...someone will be there who acted in the violent ways described...and hopefully they are ashamed...or someone will hear the conversation they will not act that way in the future...
WE OWE IT TO EACH OTHER TO SPEAK OUT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT AND GOOD AND MAKES THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE...AND GREED...ACTIVE NEGATIVE GREED IS NOT THE WAY.
