He was an old codger and he was bragging.

And it is a distinct shame what he was bragging about, “I don’t have an enemy in the world.” He paused and then continued, “Because I outlived them all.”

How much it would have been if he could have said, “I out loved them all.”

Who have you out loved recently?

How recently have you taken a mountain of bitterness and turned it into a mountain of forgiveness.

What residue from your way of living lies in the valley below these two mountains?

Do you have a mother, father, sister, brother or friend you have not spoken to for years and do not plan on ever speaking to again?

Call them…write them…NOW…now does not live forever…

Have you ever been forgiven? How did it feel?

Was it like some great hand stopped squeezing your heart?

The guilt, the fear, the blame all swept away by that other person’s gift of compassion and understanding?

An agnostic once shouted at a preacher, “What did Christ do for Stephen when he was stoned?”
And the instant reply, “He gave him the strength to forgive.”

He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends. Proverbs 17: 9

A quote from tomorrows posting entitled GRATEFUL TO WHO?

God has given you life which is made up of increasingly smaller amounts of time. How many of these minute minutes do you give to God in prayers of gratitude?

Unexpressed gratitude really isn’t gratitude now is it?

When we were children we were grateful to those who filled our stockings at Christmas time. Why are we not grateful to God for filling our stockings with legs? ~G.K. Chesterton

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Psalm 100:4
