How could God
teach kindness without suffering to be relieved?
How could He teach men courage without
something to overcome?
How could He teach true love unless men were
tempted to hate?
How
could He teach man endurance if there were no burdens to bear?
A Chinese proverb reads, "A diamond
cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trial."
The Apostle puts
it this way, "Trouble produces endurance, endurance produces character and
character produces hope."
Once, two men in Charles Read's book
"The Cloister and the Hearth" were walking through a troubled
Europe. One man turned to the other and
said," Courage my friend, the devil is dead."
I do not presume to rewrite his book but
I cannot help but rewrite these lines to read, "Courage my friend, God is
alive."
That's
the gospel, my friend. It does not deny problems. It assumes faith.
It comes to you in your darkest time of
doubt and says, "Come unto Me that are weary and heavy laden and I will
give you peace."
Yes, I know men kill but I also know men
heal. I know there are storms but I also know there are sunrises and sunsets.
I know there is pain but there is also
the pleasure of being comforted.
I know that He put within man greed and
graciousness, sin and sainthood, all kind of evil and all kind of good...and
then he made us free.
In the book
"Peace of Mind" the author has God speaking these words (rewritten
and paraphrased) "Man, man, I gave you strong and dynamic dam
enclosed then set free waters to make your turbines hum
with power.
I gave you rich loam upon which you could
grow waving wheat.
What have you done?
My coal often you have stolen, leaving
only the slag for the poor. My diamonds,
my gold, my silver you have imprisoned behind the walls of your selfish greed.
Because
you refused too use my gifts in order to build a just earth, you have
been forced to spend gold for countless wars... that mankind might be blown up
in the twinkling of an eye.
You have seen your cities ruined and your
precious sons annihilated on a thousand battlefields..
Now at last, the intelligence I have
implanted in you, O race of man, has fashioned the key to unlock my treasure
house of energy.
Within this secret heart of my atoms is

Below is a quote from Rev. Wyrick's 9th book
THE SPIRITUAL ABRAHAM LINCOLN.
It is little wonder that once the war was
over, wretched memories fed anger loud and long. Neither side could be proud of some things
that happened during the war or at their many prison camps. The meanness in some men had multiplied. They felt their uniforms allowed it.
Andersonville, or Camp Sumter
as it was officially known, in southwest Georgia is remembered as one of the
worst.
By the end of the war, it had
held 50,000 prisoners on a piece of land no larger than twenty-six acres.
Some men had called pits in
the ground their home. During its short
fourteen-month existence, 13,000 soldiers who had survived in battle died in
captivity under the most terrible conditions.
When the war was over the
superintendent was hanged.
