Everyone has down days and the following
suggestions will help whether actual depression or not.
To define depression is to begin to rid yourself of it. If you have lost interest in everything, have
difficulty concentrating and are constantly restless an agitated you are
certainly exhibiting some classic examples of depression.
So what to do about it? And why are you so afflicted?
It could be a chemical
embalance. At the famous Minrith-Meier
Clinics - in an average week, 50,000 people will visit the for therapy.
Seventy-five percent of these clients, says Dr. Meier, will have either
clinical depression or some sort of anxiety disorder.
But there are
other reasons and remedies as well.
Consider the
findings of Andrew Newberg, director of clinical nuclear medicine at the
University of Pittsburg who studied the brains of religious individuals who
either prayed or meditated.
And in this study found a dramatic
increase in action in the front region of the brain called the pre-frontal
cortex. The group also discovered
decreased activity in a region of the brain known as the superior parietal
lobe.
Without going into so much detail you will be on
verge of earning your neuroscience degree let it be said that his final
conclusion was that prayer and meditation have been shown to lower the risk of
depression and heart disease and improve immune function.
During a
lecture on mental health someone once asked Dr. Carl Menninger: "What
would you advise a person to do if that person felt a nervous breakdown coming
on?"
Most people thought he would say,
"Go see a psychiatrist immediately," but he didn’t.
Much to everyone’s astonishment, Dr. Menninger replied, "Lock up your house, go across the railroad tracks, find somebody in need, and help that person."

"Love thy neighbor as
thyself." An antidote for
self-centeredness which is the cause of depression because the world really
does not exist just to revolve around you or me.
Take a pill or pray a prayer? Maybe it isn't an either/or so much as...if
the pill is really needed be sure to not give up on the prayer. A double dose will do you...no it will
infinitely more than that.
How long ago did
you complain about something? How long
before you will complain again? Your
answers may well define the depth of your depression or its lack.
Who are you presently mad at? How long have you been mad? If I asked you to consider forgiving who you
are mad at would you consider it or would you say "No way." Your positive response to the question or
negative response will define the depth of your depression or its lack.
Who are you
with on a regular basis? When they speak
are their thoughts most often negative or positive.

depression or its lack.

who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." Are you a giver or a getter. How you answer will define the depth of your
depression or its lack.
