Christians act like Christians even when they don't feel like it...when they're lazy...and
aren't inclined to be unselfish...and loving when the truth of it is at the
moment they don't feel loving...the list is a long one...for as well we know we
humans are not perfect and are beset by temptations on a regular basis.
Which leads us to the truth of the
matter.
It behooves us to act like
Christians when we don't feel Christian.
To set in motion the beginnings of a holy habit...and never let that
motion grow stagnant and die.
The old soldier was walking down
the street, his arms full of packages.
Someone decided they would play a prank
on him and cried out "ATTENTION!"
Immediately his arms went to his side and
he became ram rod straight as his packages went flying.
The old soldier was only doing what came
naturally to him.
Which is what not giving up on yourself
as you seek to sharpen your Christian disciple...each effort...each time of
winning out in reacting rightly to life...it becomes more and more a
habit...more natural.
That person who needed that visit
in the hospital when you don't like hospitals doesn't know your hospital
feelings...all they know is that there standing at the end of their bed is
someone who took the time to show they cared.
That honest
deed when the temptation to steal was shouting in a needy ear. Many today are hovering on the edge of
economic disaster and they do not steal.
Yes...The list is long..this list of
ways and means to act non Christian and scar the landscape of life.
How to beat out temptation rather
be beaten up by it. Well...let's think
about it together.
We're at war...with
ourselves...and we struggled to keep on the whole amour of God...and God is our
tailor and helps make the fit for better living get easier and easier and
better and better.
Again...what to do...
He died for us...writing that truth
across of one's soul should make it easier to live for Him.
Succeed and fail and succeed and
fail...but each success making it easier to habitually react as is expected.

of God and with the help of God...
Make it a rule, and pray to God to
help you to keep it, never, if possible, to lie down at night without being
able to say: "I have made one human being at least a little wiser, or a
little happier, or at least a little better this day."
