am well pleased.” It was coronation
time, a moment of heavenly WOW!
In terms of divine affirmation you cannot
get any better. And as an expression of
identification, there it is; the Father’s pride in his earthly Son.

Serialization of Neil’s Internationally Distributed Novel (Rust On My Soul) (Published by Bridge Press(1985) starts on his blog Wyrick’s Writinhgs Tuesday April 13th and continues each Tuesday until finished. Thursday and Sunday will continue to cover a variety of subjects.
There is a book entitled, You Shall Know Them, and in it is a story not easily forgotten.
In this work of fiction a strange tribe of jungle creatures is found to have some of the rudimentary characteristics of humanity, but also seem to have a definite likeness to the animal kingdom.
The question confronting those who come upon them is - are they man or beast? If they are men, they have certain inalienable rights and status. If they are beasts, they can be hunted and exploited.
A young scientist puts the question to the test when he kills a child of the tribe. He is subsequently put on trial for his life before an English court. Testimony comes from every source - science, philosophy, anthropology, zoology, religion… all give their opinions.
A conclusion is never reached, but it does close with the general agreement that if an answer is to be found it must be found in the realm of religion. That for all the definitions of humanity, the ones dealing with heart and soul are the surest.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:1-5)
