DON'T CUT YOUR CONSCIENCE TO FIT A FASHION

Below is YOUR ONE A DAY (Note from Neil) & "A ONE LINER FOR YOUR SOUL"

Take this seed of a thought below and turn it into a wisdom tree.

               OUR POTENTIAL

We have a choice.  We can believe there is a “maggot in every human brain” (author unknown) and no spiritual exterminator capable of its destruction.  We can point a finger at the hypocrites and give up on mankind.  We can believe in a great plan which, once given to man, was wrecked beyond recall.  Or, we can believe in the spark of heavenly possibility.  That in the midst of the worst of darkness God wants us to leap, or at least crawl, toward the light.

The Grand Dame of playwrights Lillian Hellman was a hero and there are not enough of them to go around.

When it was not at first the popular stand, she stood up against the Senator McCarthy’s witch-hunting committee on communism in the movie industry and refused to testify.

She decided he
was fishing without enough bait.

Decided that, yes, there were communists and that communism was bad but not everyone he was trying to incriminate was a communist. And so courageously she spelled out her reason, “I will not cut my conscience to fit the year’s fashion.” Finally, she was proven right, but for a time she stood alone.

He who is steadfast in righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God) attains to life, but he who pursues evil does it to his own death. Proverbs 11: 19
