In Holman Hunt’s famous painting, “The Light of the World,” Christ holds the lantern in His left hand while His right hand is knocking on a door without a handle. Artist Hunt always explained it was not an oversight, but intentional because, “The door to the human heart can only be opened from the inside.”

And our hands have swung the door to our hearts wide open and sometimes we have hesitated and later felt ashamed.
