Luther Burbank discovered in the kingdom of greenery that every weed is a potential flower; the very qualities which make it a weed could make it a beautiful thing to behold. The same is true of man. There is a thin line between a devil and a saint.
By way of
example. Two men meet each day with the
gift of energy.
They work from morn to night with indefatigable
effort.
One man become s a Hitler.
The other becomes a
Kagawa.
One man becomes a
Judas
The other becomes a Paul.
One man moves
toward heaven. ,
The other man chooses to live in hell
And in the midst of this problem which is
not new and shall continue till the end of time, there burst a ray of hope. It
is found in the words of Christ when he said, "I am come not to destroy
but to fulfill.'
He does not come to build a negative wall
around your life and living. He does not come to tell you to suppress every
desire, every hope, every ambition.
He does not come to tell you to be good
for goodness sake. He offers you the power of God to harness your ambition, your
desires, I your hopes, your dreams.
One evening a father
brought home for his little five-year-old a simple game. As he was reading his
paper after supper he looked down at his little daughter and saw she was not
playing the game right. She was only getting a fraction of the fun that was
there waiting for her.
So he
stopped and showed her how to play. Her reply afterwards was, "Oh thank
you daddy, it's a lot better game than I thought. n
Well, life is a game
of sorts. There are many moves to be made, many decisions to make, and you win
or you lose according to how you play the game. I think that is what makes the
Christian a happier .
The decision to
work within the light of God's love as one feeling the difference looks up to
heaven and says, "Thanks God, life is a lot better game than I
thought."

It's an old joke, I went to the doctor and I
said, “Doc, when I do this, it hurts.” And the doctor said, “Then don't do that.”
How many things have you been anxious
about that were things which you knew before you got into them were probably
going to create some problems for you?
And if you asked your doctor, or your minister, or common sense and your
God, all of them would have said, “Don’t to that.”
