FAITHFULNESS

There are over 800 stories and commentaries on this blog. It is added to daily.

It is called the "House of Dying", a place where sick children were cared for with tender care in their last days.

For years it's guiding light was Mother Teresa and how she and her workers maintained physical health, while being overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the suffering, was a miracle of caring in itself.

Mother Teresa explained how they could bear such a load without being crushed by it by saying, "I am not called to be succesful.  I am called to be faithful."

Faithfulness or faithlessness?  It's one or the other.  There really is no in-between and to hover in limbo is to receive the rewards of limbo which are not to be desired.

You are faithful, I am sure...to your spouse or employer or family name or some athletic team or a certain make of automobile...

...and by comparison how faithful are you to your God?  And how does this faithfulness affect your actions?

"THE SPIRITUAL ABRAHAM LINCOLN is an extremely well written book...it is both scholarly and very readable.  I came away impressed at Mr. Wyrick's portrayal of that President with an altered and enlarged vision of the man.
