1. What is the first think of when you first awaken in the morning? The Second? The third? Is God the first thing you think of or is he something you get around to somewhere later in the day or tomorrow or…

2. When you say “Jesus Christ” is it a prayer or a curse?

3. Can you say a blessing at the table (if you say a blessing at the table) faster than anyone else?

4. Do you have a regular devotional time or no devotional time?

5. Do you think these questions and questions like them are ridiculous? Relevant to your total well being?

True worship is a constant preoccupation with God that looks for opportunities and does not transform opportunities into excuses.

And on the matter of worship and concern with the power and presence of God.

The citizens of Feldirch, Austria were desperate. On the heights above the town Napoleon’s massive army had gathered in preparation to attack.

A council of citizens was summoned to decide what to do…whether to try to defend themselves or fly a white flag of surrender.

It happened to be Easter Sunday and the people had gathered at their local church.

The pastor arose and began to speak, “Friends, we have been counting on our own strength and apparently that has failed. As this is the day of our Lord's resurrection, let us just ring the bells, have our services as usual, and leave the matter in His hands. We know only our weakness, and not the power of God to defend us."

The council accepted his plan and the church bells rang mightily and long.. The enemy, hearing the sudden peal, concluded that the Austrian army had arrived during the night to defend the town.

And the people were rejoicing.

Before the service ended, the enemy broke camp and left.

When the glory of God and the faith of man combine miracles fall like drops of rain all around…and that is when an eternal everlasting rainbow shines.

Psalms 59:16 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.*

Quote from tomorrow’s blog entitled WHAT DO YOU WANT ENGRAVED ON YOUR TOMBSTONE?

Do not become like the description Cassis puts forth of many folk, “They have a daily ugliness, that spoils whatever beauty is around.”
