Stay with me on this one. We are going to take a quick look at the history of
astronomy and at astronomy as found in the Bible and it will be an interesting
journey.
For thousands of years men
would look up and count the stars.
Before the 17th century when the telescope was
invented the number of stars were determined and the determination are
interesting to say the least.
The great Ptolemy gave the number as 1,056, Tycho Brahhe catalogued 777 and Kepler counted 1,005.
Today it is agreed that in
our own galaxy there are over one hundred billion stars, with probably billions
of other galaxies like our own. Indeed, astronomers now agree it is not humanly
possible to count all the stars.
A few centuries ago,
scientist would have said, “yes, you can count the stars.”
However in Jeremiah 33:22 you can read, :”The host
of heaven cannot be numbered.”: In 1402, Christopher Columbus was considered
carazy when he wanted to sail on beyond where the majority of folk believed he
would fall off the edge of the earth. “The world is flat,” it was commonly
agreed by most.
And in Job 26:7, you
can read, “He hangeth the earth upon nothing.”
In Isaiah 40:22, you can read a description of
God, “It is He who sitteth upon the circle of the
earth.”
In Psalm 102:25,26, we read, "Of old hast Thou
laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of Thy hands.
They shall perish, but Thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a
garment; as a vesture shalt Thou change them, and they shall be
changed."

QUOTE FROM TOMORROWS BLOG
entitled JUST SOME QUESTIONS
“The citizens of Feldirch, Austria were desperate.
On the heights above the town Napoleon’s massive army had gathered in
preparation to attack.
A council of citizens was summoned to decide what
to do…whether to try to defend themselves or fly a white flag of
surrender…”
