WHO IS AND WAS JESUS?

Christ did not come only to preach a gospel but to be a gospel.”  That’s the way A. M. Ramsey put it in his book The Resurrection of Christ.

And when Jesus rose from the dead, He was the good news shouting an affirmative answer to an age-old question asked by Job, “If a man die shall he live again?”  (Job 14:14)

Pure and simple, we must never forget that this life is a trip on the way to a destination.

Mortality on the way to immortality.

There are so many titles given to Jesus: Alpha and Omega, the Bread of Life, Son of God, Savior…these are just a few.

There are also innumerable books of history, letters and theological conclusions that seek to explain who this was who held and holds the power of life and death.

Is He, indeed, the Bread of Life?  The Beginning and the End?  Our Savior?  Believe this, and you can begin to see the bright side of death.  The soul?  That this is where eternity comes to call.

“I am the Resurrection and the Life.”  (John 11:25).  All over Miami, all over the world really, folk like you and I hold close these words of Jesus close.

Earthly doors opening and closing and opening and closing, until one a day a heavenly gate opens and we enter into a place called Forever.

Think on this, to live again is no more miraculous than the living you are doing right now.

Life before death and life after death are both miracles.  You are already accomplishing one of them.

Did not the pounds and pounds of flesh and bone and sinew you call you all start out from a tiny egg and seed?

Do you really find it hard to believe that the God who made the body you are so comfortable with cannot make a new improved edition?

God put eternity in our hearts.

It is why, if earth is a school for learning, as great philosophers and theologians have taught, then heaven is that place where such knowledge can then be practiced.

It is why this world can never completely satisfy us.  Only the magnificence of the Resurrection can meet the hunger for the eternal that is within us.

A quote below from ONE A DAY blog entitled  THE JOB

“Before the arrest in the garden place, it had been a day that had fed on itself, and it was coming up full, or empty, depending upon whose side you were on.

For political stability, the Judge in the second of two courts had allowed the jury to make the final decision.  The emotional instability of the times made the outcome inevitable.  It was the repetition of an age-old theme – if you do not like what is being said, silence the culprit.  And since rehabilitation was not an option, everyone knew that Jesus was going to die…”
