A WEEK TO REMEMBER

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEND THIS BLOG TO A FRIEND GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS BLOG AND CLICK ON THE ENVELOPE.

What we are talking about is CG and CK not EG and EK – Cosmic Glory and Cosmic Kingship rather than Earthly Glory and Earthly Kingship.  Jesus wasn’t into all of this for the short haul.

He was into it for eternity and reaching out for you and me to go along with Him on the ride.

This was a new concept. This was God seeking us rather than we seeking God.

Or, as the old hymn so rightly goes, “I sought the Lord and afterward I knew, he moved my soul to seek Him, seeking me.  It was not I that found o Savior true, no I was found of thee.”

Palm Sunday meant one thing to the crowd and another to Christ.  For he knew that soon a Judas would betray Him for thirty pieces of silver, the equivalent of $19.28 today.

He knew that on the Mount of Olives His disciples would not be even be able to stay away and pray with Him.

He knew that ahead lay a trial, a scourging, a stumbling through the Genneth Gate, a torturous journey along the Via Dolorosa and finally a cross on a wind swept, lonely Golgotha.

But He knew something else as well.

That from the stretches of eternity would come the miracle of all time, an unbelievable, astounding, awesome Resurrection.

And, as you consider it, hark back to the guest list that heralded the coming of our Christ.  Angels from on high.  Wisemen coming from a far.  And at the baptism “This is my Son in whom I am well pleased.”

He who rules the universe, who is and was and evermore shall be, riding into a major city on a borrowed donkey.

He, with enough eternity inside of Him to be aware of the first tree that ever grew, was soon to die upon a tree.

Wow!

Who could even consider that a large stone rolled across a tomb-opening could actually hold back the forces of creation, the powers of heaven, the Son of Man and the Son of God.

Palm Sunday and crucifixion-time are intertwined.  It is why it is a tradition to take palm fromds and form a cross.  You see, if Jesus had only headed up an earthly parade it would all have been for nothing. Parades come to an end.

And there I’ve said it again as I did the other day…why?...because it cannot be repeated too often.

Galatians 3:26
“For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith.”

A quote below from ONE A DAY blog entitled  WHO IS AND WHO WAS JESUS?

Christ did not come only preach a gospel but to be a gospel.”  That’s the way A. M. Ramsey put it in his book The Resurrection of Christ.

And when Jesus rose from the dead, He was the good news shouting an affirmative answer to an age-old question asked by Job, “If a man die shall he live again?”  (Job 14:14)

Pure and simple, we must never forget that this life is a trip on the way to a destination.
