SHAKE HANDS WITH THE SPIRITUAL GIANT; FORGIVENESS

Golgotha was a rocky place and perhaps Jesus looked down at all the stones lying there and thought of the Pharisees so ready to throw stones. I really can't say what went through His heavenly mind, but I do know what He said, "Forgive them for they know not what they do."

In your life, in the adventure of your living, has someone recently thrown some stones in y our direction. Not Golgotha stones but they were ready to bruise you emotionally and stone you with words almost hard enough to draw blood. Mean, dumb, stupid things they have been saying about you and they were not true but they have said them anyway.

And has your reaction been to give them something real they can talk about, give them as bad as they have given and worse. And have the words "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do" been words a million miles away. And the thought of forgiveness a shrunken and dying thing. And have you summoned up the spiritual strength to pray a prayer you know must be paid.

And you have thought of all that you have asked God to forgive you for and He does have a big eraser and he has. And so you have struggled and you have forgiven that person and you have not matched their meaness because you have remember the scripture that reads... " Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one anothr. Forgive as the Lord forgives you." Colossians 3:13
