Some children decided to play a trick on
Grandpa while he was taking a nap.
They sprayed his mustache with bug spray.
When he woke up, he began to sniff the air
and soon complained, "Something in this house stinks."
He then went into the kitchen and said, "This kitchen stinks!"
He then went into the kitchen and said, "This kitchen stinks!"
He went outside and shouted, "THE
WHOLE WORLD STINKS!"
Of course, it wasn’t the world that stunk, it was Grandpa!

It is impossible to have much peace of mind
while daily carrying around a mind, heart and soul full of stinky complaints.
So yes...what are the first words out of
your mouth each morn...said with a smile
or a frown...
Two women went to a concert. On the way
home, one asked the other, "How did you like the concert?" The other
woman replied, "Well, the way that first violinist blew his nose after the
first selection just ruined the entire evening for me."
From the opening hour with sunrise in the
background till the final hour of each day what are your thoughts and your speakings?
What don't you like about some people and do you spend every day focusing on
it...complaining out loud about it...repeating yourself on a regular
basis...driving yourself and everyone else crazy with the habit.
Then...
"Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become
blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved
generation." (Phil. 2:14-15)
One poet wrote:
Is anybody happier because you passed his way?
Does anyone remember that you spoke to him or her today?
Can you say tonight in passing with the days that slipped so fast,
That you helped a single person, or the man that you passed?

I speak not of living under a dark cloud but rather of being
one.
Ben Franklin said it well, Ben Franklin said, "When you
are good to others, you are best to yourself."
Have you ever had a negative thought
that was driving you crazy and then just kept on thinking about it so it could
drive you more crazy.
What would happen if you purposely put the thought of Jesus
in your mind and repeated it over and over again so that this thought overrode
the negative thought by
the sheer volume of this positive thought...this thinking of Jesus...this
shouting "Praise" and "Thanksgiving" after time you thought
and think his name?
It was a bumper sticked on the care in front of me "No
Jesus, No peace"!
Then underneath
"Know Jesus, Know Peace."
Then underneath
"Know Jesus, Know Peace."
Put it this way, " Safety
consists not in the absence of danger but in the presence of God."
Duke University did a study
on "peace of mind." Factors found to contribute greatly to emotional
and mental stability are:
1) the absence of
suspicion and resentment. Nursing a grudge was a major factor in unhappiness.
2) Not living in the
past. An unwholesome preoccupation with old mistakes and failures leads to
depression.
3) Not wasting time
and energy fighting conditions you cannot change. Cooperate with life, instead
of trying to run away from it.
4) Force yourself to
stay involved with the living world. Resist the temptation to withdraw and
become reclusive during periods of emotional stress.
5) Refuse to indulge
in self-pity when life hands you a raw deal. Accept the fact that nobody gets
through life without some sorrow and misfortune.
6) Cultivate the
old-fashioned virtues--love, humor, compassion and loyalty.
7) Do not expect too
much of yourself. When there is too wide a gap between self-expectation and
your ability to meet the goals you have set, feelings of inadequacy are
inevitable.
8) Find something
bigger than yourself to believe in. Self-centered egotistical people score
lowest in any test for measuring happiness.

about that were things which you knew before you got into them were probably
going to create some problems for you?
And if you asked your doctor, or your minister, or common sense and your
God, all of them would have said, “Don’t to that.”
