There was a man whose name was Giovanni Francesco Bernardone.

He was usually deep in his cups, drunk as a fool and so great a playboy that all of his friends used to call him “The King of the Revelers.”

One night during a feast given in is honor he wandered off, gave his life to Christ and the world had a St. Francis of Assisi..

Starr Daily was a thief, a liar and a bum.

He had been in more jails than most people have been in grocery stores.

He stood before a judge one day who as he sentenced him and said, “I don’t know what to do with you, and I know sending you back to jail isn’t going to help. You’re just a lost cause, a hopeless case.”

Starr Daily only spat out a curse and filled the room with his defiance.
Starr Daily went on to become one of Washington D.C’s most respected reporters.

His name was Saul and he will always be remembered as the man who stoned Stephen…but infinitely more than that as he who made a monumental change and became the Apostle Paul

Now, your name is not Starr Daily or Giovanni Francesco Bernardone or Saul of Tarsu.s

More than likely you are Sam at the local department store, or Sally at home and holding down another job just down the street or Bill or Mary of Real Estate or…

Within your life are moods and manners and morals that should be changed. And some of you have changed or are in the midst of changing or will change for the better…maybe as soon as today or tomorrow.
Formed, deformed and reformed. That describes all of us if we have taken Christ into our hearts and are busy becoming a new person.

Paul put it well when he wrote, “Therefore work out your own salvation, for it is God which worketh in you.”
