Someone once said, “We judge ourselves by our ideals and our neighbors by their actions.” But ideals are like wheels on a car that is up on blocks. They’re pretty silly and worthless if they don’t go anywhere.
Let me tell you a Once Upon A Time story….Once upon a time there was a horse and he went wandering. Indeed, he wandered so far and wide he found himself completely lost. So he wandered on some more and as luck would have it, he did find his way back home. But he had been gone a long time and he had had nothing to eat or drink and he felt faint.
Staggering into the barn he saw the oats that were always there and the water that was always there. He was saved!
But he had a problem.
For some reason, he couldn’t make up his mind which to do first; eat the oats or drink the water. He was just as hungry as he was thirsty and he simply could not make up his mind.
So there he stood pondering which of the two choices he should go for first. An hour later he was still considering. And night came and sunrise and still the poor horse could not make up his mind.
One week later he died of starvation and dehydration.
In life, no decision often becomes a decision, and sometimes the consequences are unbelievably bad.
What makes a man or woman act as we do? What makes us choose lesser things over a greater God? Well, someone has said, “If you don’t bow before God your maker you will bow before god’s of your own making.”
The Apostle Paul said it, “Put on the whole Armor of God.” Not a bad idea what with all the slings and arrows of outrageous temptations always around.

THE SPIRITUAL ABRAHAM LINCOLN
“A book superior in style and content.”
Quote from book below
To mention Christianity today is to create a firestorm of complaint. “We must assure separation of church and state” is the politically correct outcry. Unfortunately, most who are straining their vocal chords, have not strained any intellectual efforts to research how the original quote actually reads.
When Thomas Jefferson dipped his pen and began to put down his thoughts, he wrote, “a wall of separation between Church and State.”
Even more interesting is the reason why it was written. A group of less than joyous Baptists in Connecticut did not want to have their denomination play second fiddle to the Congregationalists.
The Congregationalists? They would have been perfectly willing to be top dog as the state’s choice. Episcopalians in Virginia were no less reluctant to create the same problem, if given half a chance. Thomas Jefferson stuck by his guns in this state, as well.
Separation of church and state? But should that mean separation of God and man?
