SUNDAY/THE HARBOR

The little boy sat on the side of a hill to watch the harbor lights at night.

It, however, was made extremely difficult by the passing of hundreds of freight trains which locked his view.

He, though young as he was, solved the problem in both an innovative and creative way.  Instead of fuming and fussing at the trains as they slowly passed he raised his eyes to the feast of a sky filled with stars.

And...yes...that's life..anyone can look straight ahead and see slums and slobs and sinners.  Read the newspapers and become an authority on rape, murder, war and theft.

But by becoming a man or woman of the upward vision you can hear the songs of choirs as well as the screams of violent mobs, see the iighto f immortality at the darktime of the graveside, find hope inthe hopeless and the wrmth of God's forgiveness even when the hard cold grasp of sin is near.

"Where there is no vision, the people perish, but he that keepth the law, happy is he"  Provers 29:18
