A number of years ago, a famous violinists who played each week on a nationwide broadcast, received a letter from an old mountaineer deep in the hills.
The letter read, “I’ve got an old fiddle. It’s out of tune and I don’t have anything to tune it by. Next time you play would you mind sounding me a good strong “A”
The letter appealed to the musician and at his next broadcast, he made the following announcement, “Old timer, I got your letter. Get your old fiddle out, because before I start my program, I’m going to sound for you a good strong ‘A’.
Life’s like that…we need to tune into a good strong “A” A good strong note that resonates and keeps us from going flat. And that is God and commitment to this God.
And commitment to that good strong note…tuning into this God so we stop being out of tune.
It’s admitting we need some help. It’s seeking, asking, finding. That which is indeed the most important choice in all your world.
Indeed, let me put a question.
If this were your last day on earth and you lay abed, with all your children and their children gathered around you and even your children’s children…and one of them asked (Father) (Mother)…tell us what you feel is the most important thing in the world. What would you say?”
